Sharing Your Birth Preferences

Birthing ChairAs you approach the last weeks of your pregnancy, with guidance from your doctor or midwife, you may want to share your birth preferences with your partner and other loved ones. Every delivery is unique just like you, so make sure you carefully consider what’s most important and comfortable for you. Talk with your partner and decide who you want to attend the birth. Some like to be surrounded by loved ones while others prefer a more intimate experience.

While your birth preferences reflect your ideal birth, it’s always a good idea to keep in mind your ultimate goal — a healthy and safe baby and you.  With that in mind, you will be ready to make any adjustments as your labor and delivery unfolds.
