Cone Health Neurorehabilitation Center offers an eight-week circuit exercise class for individuals with Parkinson’s disease.
Instructors guide participants through different exercise stations every 4 to 6 minutes. Each station focuses on large amplitude functional movements often utilizing many parts of the body working in unison to target precise PD deficits: bradykinesia, rigidity, postural control, akinesia and cognitive and sensory awareness. Areas of focus at stations include functional strength training, cardio for speed and endurance, agility, and active stretching for improved posture and flexibility.
PWR! Circuit Classes are held on Tuesdays, from 8:15 to 9 a.m. in the Exercise Room at Green Valley Medical Center, located at 719 Green Valley Road.
